Luxury abaya as a fashion statement? Ummm..yes please

From Riyadh to Rue Cambon: The Abaya Joins the Fashion Conversation

There was a time when the abaya was whispered about as something strictly religious, quietly worn, often misunderstood. That time is gone.

Today, you’ll see a girl in Dubai step out of a G-Wagen in The Palm, her crocodile Birkin brushing against her silk abaya, designer heels peeking beneath the hem. You’ll see an Emirati heiress at the Dorchester in London, draped in Graff diamonds, leggings and flats, a kaftan-style silk abaya floating behind her like it’s the final touch of her throne. It’s not modestwear. It’s luxury.

The abaya especially the contemporary kaftan style one, has become a proper fashion statement. And it didn’t ask for permission.

From Riyadh to Rue Cambon, from the desert to the salons of Paris, women are reimagining what power looks like. What softness looks like. And what it feels like to be wrapped in silk that tells the world — I don’t need to prove anything. I am the thing they want to copy. And they will, just watch.

The West used to look at the abaya with orientalist eyes — seeing only restriction, only tradition. But we knew better...we paid attention.. The abaya was never about hiding. It was about revealing only what you choose to.

Walk through Monaco.  Walk through Le Marais in Paris. Abayas are no longer hidden in religious shops. They are becoming main characters. Worn over Chanel strappy tops, with Dior slingbacks. Styled with messy buns and diamond tennis chokers. They don’t clash with modernity — they eclipse it.

And no, not all abayas are created equal.

Tzarina By Oli silk abayas drape like water. They flatter like a dream. And they were never designed to make anyone feel small or hidden. We design for women who walk into a room and shift the energy — not with noise, but with presence. These aren’t garments. They are stories. Each silk abaya in our Selene Series feels like mythology you can wear. Misty whites. Dusky pinks. Twilight blues. The kind of colours that whisper instead of scream — and still leave everyone breathless.

Listen,

There’s something magic about a beautifully crafted designer abaya. No matter your body type, it flatters you. It elongates your silhouette. It gives you that almost surreal, gliding effect when you move — like you’re floating, not walking. It turns the ordinary act of existing into something regal. And in today’s world, what’s more rebellious than elegance?

So you know what? — the abaya has officially joined the fashion conversation. This isn’t modestwear. This is silk warfare:)

So no — we’re not calling them modest.

We’re calling them masterpieces.
